A reader, T.C., recently asked in a comment, “Just wondering: Is anyone still here?”
Good question. And here is my reply:
Am still here, T.C. Thanks for asking. But have let this blog sit in dormancy while focusing on developing other projects.
Don’t want to kill it. It still gets lots of visits. People tell me they are helped by the richness of the material in the archives. But I am not actively developing it now in this current form.
Several years ago coach Gila Joy Pascale led me to consider and define a way to reorganize it and redirect it. To make it more clear in purpose and direction — and therefore more effective and relevant. But I have not prioritized that as a project. May at some point. In the meantime, am just letting it rest here, in peace and service, as is. (And still might add a post now and then in the meantime, but life happens and I haven’t felt called to for about a year as I write this response).
The blogscape and how people use and relate to the internet has changed a lot in the last eight years and I have not devoted myself to keeping this blog trendy and highly visible.
The work on this blog was intended to be funded by monetization through residual payments from Google for allowing it to display its ads here, and from occasional recommendations of relevant, helpful, quality products. Unfortunately, the Google Adwords payout scheme changed substantially shortly after I began this blog eight years ago… And I never took the time to truly master “keyword optimization…” And the tiny residual payments the blog has earned have not at all compensated for the amount of time and work that has gone into developing it.
I could change that. I know. Maybe I even should.
Instead I have chosen to divert my attention and efforts to what seem to be more viable income-producing projects that serve the same greater mission. Will I revive and repurpose this blog? Don’t know. That’s not top of mind right now. We’ll see. I DO still respond to comments as they come in.
Maybe I should post this (or something similar) on the front page? So people understand.
