What does ‘community’ mean?

Soliciting ideas, thoughts, input:

In what ways do we create community in our lives? In what ways do we access community? What are all the various (even esoteric) forms of community?

What do we “get” from community?

How do we manage “community” in our lives? How do we contribute to community? How do we influence community? How do we keep community from distorting us?

What are viable alternative forms of community that we’ve experienced or that we envision are on the horizon?

How does the internet influence community? In what healthful ways can it offer new opportunities and forms for community>

How can shut-ins find and experience community?

When do we grow from community? When are we hurt by community? How do we join community? When should we withdraw from community?

I welcome thoughtful submissions and responses.
